OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Sowers Garden
Working with children has been both a challenging learning experience and a healing journey for me. I left my parents' home at 18, and navigating life within this culture and society, with the resources I had growing up, was difficult. Along the way, I’ve faced health challenges and learned more about life from both natural and spiritual perspectives, realizing how everything is deeply interconnected. I want my children to experience the kind of life I didn’t have. God has been planting seeds throughout my life, and now He’s cultivating a beautiful garden. In working with children and families, I've found that many are longing for the kind of community we offer at The Sowers Garden Community Center. We are a ministry that is growing in faith and love!

At our Christian center, located on a homestead with a schoolhouse, we provide a space for in-home education with a structure that resembles a camp. But beyond that, we are a ministry focused on building a community of like-minded believers. Our center offers a holistic approach to biblical parenting in today’s world. We offer "cottage classes" where we teach practical life skills—such as managing finances, buying a car or house, navigating relationships, building a business, managing time, and adapting to changing cultural shifts. We also host personal and business projects, providing a space to learn, build, and grow.

While we believe teaching begins at home, we recognize that many families either can't afford to live on a homestead or can't adjust their lifestyles to fully embrace this way of life. Our goal is to provide a variety of packages to meet the needs of all types of families—whether you’re two parents working full-time, wanting to homeschool on a single income, seeking a supportive community to homeschool in, or needing a place to gather with a large family or friends. We also aim to make this lifestyle accessible to those seeking community without the financial burden of full responsibility.

We believe that the foundation of a child’s life is formed between the ages of 0 and 6. During this time, we focus on building trust, autonomy, emotional regulation, handling shame and doubt, taking initiative, responding to negative emotions, and learning through mistakes. From ages 6 to 12, we help children find competence in both the natural and spiritual worlds, develop new skills and responsibilities, and recognize their strengths and weaknesses. We teach them how to handle negative feedback, manage their feelings, and explore apologetics and the purpose of life. For ages 12 and up, we dive deeper into issues of identity, role confusion, intimacy, and isolation.

As "guides," we provide not only support for the children at The Sowers Garden, but also for the entire family. We offer classes and resources to help you be an active part of this learning, healing, and spiritual journey. However, we believe true parenting starts with the parents themselves. Our aim is to provide a space for enrichment in your child’s education, well-being, and spiritual growth.
